While I can see the attempts that the staff puts forward to improve this site, I feel there are a few characteristics that are continually dragging it down.

When I was staff, we enforced the no 4chan rule. This lead to a productive and enjoyable member experience. Now, we are in my opinion out of control. One word posts, only posting funny images as replies, and in general just a mass amount of trolling is going on. We all want more members to visit the site and return it to it's former glory days, but this will never happen when 80% of our posts are junk. You can look in almost any thread and before you get halfway down the page it has been hijacked and trolled. This needs to stop for a community to grow and welcome more members with the launch of Reach.

Secondly, the signatures have become a bit of an annoyance. I no longer feel comfortable visiting the site in public places such as my schools computer labs. While I could stare at naked men in signatures all day, it is not something appropriate to be looking at in a public place. Same goes for overly exposed women. We need to make this site more appropriate for all users. Could we also try to cut down on the amount of animated GIF's in the signatures please? It slows down mobile viewing and those who may have slower internet connections. Try to be courteous.

Finally, the members need to start to show respect to the moderators and administrators. While I may throw around the occasional joke at Cort, it looks trashy and disrespectful. When new members join up they may feel that it is also acceptable to be rude and an ass to the staff. This should stop. The staff's job is to do what ever they can to help the site stay maintained and grow. This should be the view of the elder members of this site as well. Contribute, report issues, and help this community grow to what it use to be.

This is in no way a rant. I hope that the staff will read over this and think about some of the issues that our site is currently experiencing. Hopefully, what I have written will benefit the site in one way or another.

As an aspiring director, I, myself am always looking for tutorials, and I know the community can be really helpful. Not to mention I know a few I could post from other forums.

I'd really enjoy it if posts had more precise time stamps. I personally prefer having something that tells me when a conversation took place, how long the intervals between posts are, etc., so I find it annoying having all the posts in a thread listed as "1 day ago." Maybe I'm missing an option somewhere or maybe I'm just weird. But it's just a suggestion. And isn't just a bit odd that a thread made two months ago has more precise time stamps than one made yesterday?

cortinator should not be the only person who does anything(spotlights, pushing for change, etc). This is ridiculous. If you're busy, that's cool, but maybe you should step down and let someone else do something on the forums. There needs to be a competent staff to help push producitivity, change, etc. This forum gets like 3 posts a day.

This happens, I don't know why. Using Opera 10.7 alpha, been happening since we upgraded to that new look. Might be a browser issue.
We should add more bots, maybe engadget, or some kind of Media/Video, considering we're supposed to be a media forums, not just gaming.

I see Gilean locked ukilledkenny7's thread, which scares me away from posting this in General Chat.

I know I'm not that active so I may have NO IDEA what I'm talking about. I may be so out of line, in fact, that you can permanently banish me from TDS if I so much as hurt your feelings. I am weak and insignificant when compared to your mighty splendor.

But anyway.

Here are some ideas I just thought of (like a minute ago, okay?) for how to get TDS some new members/energy/activity:

All the staff, especially HH, members get twitter accounts. They then have their background feature the TDS logo, the website name, and what we're about. imSuck and blackouTT could probably reel in some fanboys with the whole "The official home of HollywoodHalo" thing, too.

It shouldn't be too much of an issue racking up some followers, especially seeing as whenever they tweet about you, all of their followers will see it as well. It's a nice little way to go viral easily and quickly.

It is to be expected that every (DEVOTED D:< ) TDS member follow you, too.

Advertise On Facebook

Not really clear on how this stuff works, but I've seen a FAQ for it on facebook. You guys should probably check it out and create an eye-catching advertisement.
Facebook is a major source of...well...everybody. Film-makers, gamers, etc.

As I've said...I don't really keep up with what TDS is doing nowadays, so if you're all really not that interested in spreading TDS across the webz, I'll just leave it alone.
