hello I am J.G or as others know me as Justin. I am a novice movie/machinima director my very first machinima series is battle on relic which didn't last and ended well. I realized the problem to that: i used a camera in front of tv to film, used a bad microphone, and i was the only one who controlled the characters. It was also the worst thing to do when filming machinima. I now have a dazzle 100 capture card, a godd mic, and some recruited people who will help voice act and body act in my machinima projects. The only problem is....i am having trouble brainstorming ideas. if any of you guys want to help me brainstorm ideas i would be happy to let you.

P.S: My cousin jessica or BRMaster008 uploaded a good looking halo reach trailer. its called Halo: REACH: preparing for the fall ( trailer ). its worth checking out.:biggrin:

Anyways, the main reason I signed up was to thank the people here for putting our website (machinimasound.com) in the spotlights section. So thank you very much for that!

things about me
1- im a cool reasonable guy likes a got time likes a great time even more, im here for friends and helping others with sharing and expressing themselves through media.
2-training; i have had 5 years in : professional photography ,videography,art, acting, script writing, and computer technical support. i went to a state art school where i learned my trades.
3-jobs; im a freelance graphic designer and a US Army Soldier.
4-i really like to help people but don't like to be taken advantage of...
5-i noticed that some of the scripts here are good concepts but could be refined a bit better and its just helpful creative criticism and if you want my help just ask. i am an artist on a freelance professional level. i have sold lots of artwork and my biggest peace was sold to a YMCA it was a 36x10 ft mural.
6- i can only do voice acting for now here is a quick simple audition peace i whipped up i edited the voices, im all 3 characters. remember this was a QUICK concept i can do like 10x better if asked. and no offence but i prefer roles that are more involved in the story line i dont really like to act one liners.

Well although the title says that, I'm pretty sure most of you don't even remember or know who the hell I am. Well all you have to know is that I used to be a halo machinimaker who worked with a guy called Clearviewpro. That reminds me I haven't contacted that guy for awhile. Anyways after not being in the world of machinima for awhile I decided to come back into it. What caused me to get away from it in the first place was because my pals and I were trying to make a film out of a brilliant script created by scrappy into a halo 3 film but failed miserably (twice by the way) because it was too much for us to handle and we didn't have enough people & time. That incidence caused us to no longer care about machinima (By the way scrappy if you're reading this we're definitely not blaming you.). But yeah. After taking a break from machinima for a long period the urge to return back suddenly popped up.

Hey guys, I'm Memphiston.
I'm a Halo 3 Machinimator on Youtube whose come out with two main drama series, Gradient and Hired Guns. The latter has been pretty sucessful due to me having a much more experience when it was first created. As for Gradient, it's not terrible, but it's definetly able to be identified as a first-attempt. I currently have 260+ subscribers, and I'm enjoying it :) I try to upload my vids every week, but it's hard so I usually do it between 1-2 weeks.

I've loved HollywoodHalo's vids sincet he first HMV Hell, and when I found out they'd be back with Reach, I was exstatic, and so, here I am. Hopefully Reach will provide HollywoodHalo with the tools the need to create kick-ass videos once again.

If you guys want to know more about my vids, watch 'em or send me a message. I'll be happy to share info about them or just about machinima.

HollywoodHalo, one of the first amateur Halo Machinima groups to make it big in the gaming community and proved that any average Joe can make great movies on a budget.

HollywoodHalo's humble beginnings
Clan HollywoodHalo was created on 1/29/05 by myself (imSuck) and several other members, most of which are no longer around. For around four years, it served the purpose of housing a group of Machinima enthusiasts to easily come together on Bungie's Halo game series to make movies (Machinima), play Halo and just have fun.

How did we get started?
It started with my love for making movies. I used to make cinematic short movies using Warcraft 3 rather than making playable customer games like so many others in that community. In that community I was known as "Sinema", contrary to my current alias "imSuck". I began playing Halo 1 at LAN tournaments with friends and got hooked on the game. Not long after, I stumbled upon the most popular Machinima series "Red vs. Blue". Of course I was instantly hooked and like many other Machinima-enthusiasts... I wanted to make movies like they did.

My best friend and former roommate gave me a, now quite dated; Panasonic TV-Tuner card which I came to find could record video and audio input on my PC. I started making short movies of fooling around in Halo doing stunts in Warthogs, among other things. Once I realized my great interest in filming, directing and editing; I decided to continue making these short films while recruiting friends along the way. With the help of my roommate, we set up a personal server to host my first site, Lazyspoon.com (don't ask).

Not having any money to spare for server expenses, we put the home-made server on a friend's home internet connection. From the site, I shared short Halo movies I made with friends; much to the dismay of that internet connection which was buckling under the increasing download speed from site visitors.

After my movies started to gain popularity on sites like Halo.Bungie.org and Highimpacthalo.org we formed a Machinima clan devoted to making Halo movies, called HollywoodHalo. The clan name itself was thought up by an old friend by the name OutspokenChimp who was one of the first members. We've lost and gained many amazing members and friends along the way, as well as traversed through some very tough times both in and outside of our online-lives.

Around this time, I joined forced with a new found friend Arabian Camel who owned the domain HaloGrid.com which was hardly being put to use. I ditched the Lazyspoon site endeavor and began a partnership with Camel. HaloGrid would become the home of Clan HollywoodHalo. I created movies branded with both the HH and HG name and Camel managed the domain, server and forum software, and so began the community of HaloGrid.com revolving around fans of Halo Machinima and HollywoodHalo. Some years later (closer to present date), Camel became increasingly absent due to college and work, so I took over managing the server with the help of friends (now site admins) made along the way. We moved the site from host to host trying to balance our high demand in users for server speed and the cost of hosting such a community.

Present day, HollywoodHalo has been on an extended hiatus from production for quite some time now... with the exception of creating a few films here and there to show appreciation for our friends and fans. The delay in production is primarily contributed by my job which is now the majority of my day to day life.

Plans are being made to produce new movies in the upcoming prequel release to the Halo series Halo: Reach. We've even created a film teasing our friends and fans of our could-be "comeback" entitled Halo: Reach Tips & Tricks, complete with Bloopers.

About Us

Welcome to TheDigitalSet.com, in this thread we'll introduce ourselves and give you a little bit of history behind our community.

TheDigitalSet.com and its HaloGrid Roots
TheDigitalSet.com was formerly known as HaloGrid.com. HaloGrid was created in early 2005 by imSuck and Arabian Camel, a hub for fan-made Machinima created by using Bungie's Halo series. HaloGrid.com was first and foremost the home of Clan HollywoodHalo, a group of friends who created numerous Machinima movies and become well-known in the gaming community. Fans of HollywoodHalo and intrigued passersby soon came to find a home at HaloGrid.com, where the user base passed 12,000 members.

HaloGrid thrived in the spotlight and suffered through hardships throughout the 3-4 years it was around. Hacking attempts and attacks left the site crippled, but the community also shined in moments of glory like when HollywoodHalo was able to compete against Bungie employees in a “Humpday Tournament”, myself (imSuck) was interviewed by Bungie in a community spotlight, we had the pleasure of interviewing Burnie Burns (creator of Red vs Blue), among many other milestones.

The final successful hacking of HaloGrid’s forum database left the site with a blank slate and the decision of what to do next. After careful calculation, the staff and team members of HaloGrid decided to start over and point the community in a new direction… Away from solely Halo Machinima and towards digital media as a whole. The site became known as TheDigitalSet.com where life began again for the team and our community friends.

Present day, TheDigitalSet.com still has a great focus on Machinima; particularly Halo-based, but also encourages the discussion of digital media forms like art, photography, music, movies, and technology. Our main goal is and has always been to provide a fun, safe community to meet friends and share common interests; we hope you enjoy your stay on the Set.

We're in the middle of production for episode 11 and are looking to round out the rest of the first season with a bang! My name is NovaPow and I'm new to the forums. I just finished making a few posts to vote in the Machinicast Awards a few moments ago, and I just might stick around and post some more.
I've known of TDS for a long time now, but never really felt like joining. I have enough other forums to keep up with. :P

Some of you may now me, as I am an avid user on Machinima.com, GamerGulch.com, and VirtualFlicks.net. So for some of you this may not even be an introduction.

As for the rest of you, to introduce myself in short, I make Machinima. I sometimes make machinima in Guild Wars (because it's not very common, mainly) and I'm in the process of learning Halo: Custom Edition Machinima.

Anyway, I'm eager to meet the community and possibly become a regular here.

One October day in 2006, I noticed FinalCutMin's motton on Xbox Live had something like "#HaloGrid FTW!"

I asked him what HaloGrid was (...along with what FTW meant lol) and presto.

How'd you guys come across this site?
