Tech Matrox MX02 Mini + Macbook = ?

Hey, it's been a while since I've posted here BUT..

I was looking into using a Matrox MXO2 Mini as a capture card and using an ExpressCard adapter since my laptop doesn't have a slot for it.

I got it recommend by TheDeadPixel the other day, he said he ran it on his Macbook and it worked great. I was wondering if you guys had any insight on this, how smoothly it would run on my computer, would it even work at all.

(My Macbook has a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.)

Hiya guys, i played socom 1 and 2 online for 3 or 4 years. BEST online game ever hands down. But socom 3 and after that just sucked. The community was great, the maps (crossroads, Frostfire FTW) was great, barely anyone used cheap weapons and glitched even though it was easy. the hosting system was great, you could ban guns and maps and pick the map you wanna play instead of doing matchmaking(cod series, halo). So yah if anyone ever played socom 1 or 2 just discuss in here about the awesome game.

For the few of us who still play this game, if you've kept up to date with your DLC news, you should know by now that Snoop Dogg will finally be coming next week with 8 songs. However, no announcement has been made as to what songs will be in the pack. Even though we'll know tomorrow what songs are going to be on the pack, people have already discovered what albums these songs will come from. People have been snooping with the url below and have also discovered some more album art for artists that have yet to appear in Rock Band, as well as albums that have yet to appear as DLC from artists currently in the Rock Band series. if you feel like snooping around too, just replace "albumname" in the code below with an album that you'd want to see in the game. If you get a 404, that just means no dlc from that album. If you heard leaks about songs from friends, this is a good way to test to see if they were telling the truth. Just keep in mind that if you look up an album like With Teeth or Badmotorfinger, they already have songs as dlc.

The new iPod touch announced today (or yesterday I should say) comes with every feature of the iPhone 4, only without the cellphone part. Read all about it here.

Basically, it replaces all of your handheld devices (other than a cellphone of course) with one device.

Records HD Movie (no need for a cheap camcorder to carry around on trips or whatnot),
Takes HD pictures (not sure on the resolution, would assume it's the same 5MP as the iPhone 4, so no need for a point-and-shoot anymore),
Plays all your music, videos, and photos.
Incredibly good-looking games that put even the PSP to shame (watch the keynote for the Unreal Engine 3 demo, it's freakin ridiculous),
GameCenter just debuted so you can do online multiplayer (read: Apple's XBL).
Plus it's got all the awesome apps and internet connectivity and jank.

So basically I'll be wanting the 32GB model for Christmas, Mom and Dad. I know you joined TDS, it's cool.

I am looking at getting 4GB of memory, but in the description it says 4GB but when I look at the part number it says 2G. The 8GB one says 4G too so idk what to do.

Tech Lookin for a New TV - What refresh rate is good enough?

Hey guys, I've been planning on getting a new TV for awhile and I finally took action and started looking around. I'm still trying to figure out though if 120Hz is good enough to play Halo and other various 360 titles at a good enough frame rate. Nothing is more annoying then a noticeably slow frame rate. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on any TV's they've had, looking to buy, or know of any good TVs.

I'm looking for:
-32-42"
-1080p a must
-a good pixel ratio (no idea what is good, i've just been hearing stuff from the best buy employees)
-120Hz+ (Is this good enough?)

Price Range:
$400-950

I saw this nice Samsung that was 40", 1080p, and 120Hz at $900. Pretty sure this is overpriced, but I want the TV to be good and reliable, so I'm a little sketched out about $300 TVs (If I'm being paranoid please tell me.)

Any help appreciated, thanks guys.

Edit: I would like to note that I want to start recording, and apparently when recording with some HD TVs, there is sometimes input lag so moving the joystick might take like 0.5s longer to actually move. Also, the second reason I want a new TV is for the football season. :)

Ok, so for my newest machinima I finally just got the trainer to work. But now since I just got it, I can't enter the middle island. It's locked cause I haven't beaten campaign or even done like any missions. Does anyone know of a cheat to just automatically have the game set to think you beat campaign or just beat campaign? I can't find one online. It's for machinima purposes, cause I really need to know. Also if someone could just tell me how to spawn a faggio, it would be much appreciated. There is no key-command the trainer lists for it. i have done 'spawn random vehicle' 100 times in a row and it won't spawn a faggio or even any type of motorcycle at that. (faggio is the one I need though). Please help!

Also when I press insert to get rid of my wanted level it just reappears over and over and over and over...:(

Ok, I tried to record some WoW with fraps and I was in an open unpopulated area. I got to much lag to even keep the footage. I tried to capture on many frame rates and my graphics were turned up pretty high.

Now I know I could lower my graphics, but I want to be able to capture in HD. When I am not capturing I can get 60 fps in a non populated area. So what I want to know is what can I do to make this happen?

Keep in mind that my tower is a Dell Studio Slim. If I have the option to take out the parts and get a bigger tower, then I am willing to do that, I just dont know if I can.

Tech Live Streaming Help

I'm trying to set up a live stream on Justin.tv with my HD PVR. I managed to get everything working.

I use the VH Sceen Capture and Adoble Flash media encoder method to get my stream working. Everything is fine... except for the quality. Even on the lowest bitrate (which looks too shitty to even consider streaming) I still get lag.

I know it's based off internet connection but I wouldn't say I have a bad connections...

My question is... does anyone know how to improve quality while keeping it smooth?

So I was wondering what was up with Sonic the Hedgehog 2's story, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. I found out exactly went down in, quite possibly, the best piece of literature I have found on the site.

Tech How can I play on my Computer Monitor?

Before we got a new monitor, I used to just plug in the VGA cable from my computer into this little 15 inch LCD TV, and I used that as a TV for gaming and a PC monitor.

But now we bought this sweet 22 inch LCD monitor, so I play my games on the 15 inch screen while I use the computer on the 22 inch monitor. I didn't think I was missing much... until I got my HD PVR and switched my 360's settings to 720p (instead of 480p) to record.

Everything was SO much more crisp and sharp... problem is, the picture was cut off on the sides and squished.

SOOOOO... I was wondering if there was any kind of way to play my 360 using my computer monitor. It only has VGA inputs.

Well, I have decided to give the not too popular but well liked dvorak keyboards a chance. I am actually typing on dvorak settings right now. It's certainly a little slower for now, but I should pick up speed by week's end. For anyone who has never heard of the dvorak layout, you can check out a diagram below:

It's supposed to be great ergonomically, and i spend a great deal of time typing, so it should be worth it in the end. Has anyone else ever tried this layout? This message took about ten minutes to type, but I'm already getting faster. I have most of it memorized, just need to learn the less popular letters.
